Let’s begin our 10th anniversary celebration with a song about transformation, inner and outer travel, renewal. The most important movement of “Anywhere But Home” is in fact “Changing Colours”, a song that encompasses all our traits in 2011: aggressive riffs, epic launches and instruments that chase and intertwine themselves.
In this edited version we shortened the central section of the song and cleaned the overall sound, lifting up some secret passages that were buried under the 2011 original mix.
lyrics
Here I
see the world on
old dreams and also
no distortion
that blinds my faith.
Never look back and inside
that’s my first page to hide
how I feel now before this journey
and I have to stay with my own.
All my cryings have been stopped
while I was walking a lot
from the south to the north I see
silence of towns in my head.
Voice of time is arrived
from the skies to this land
and it calls me again “come back home”,
but I can’t hear that so much more.
So I decided to buy
all the rage with my sins
and I’ll never know the name of the actions
that I felt inside another life.
So I don’t know
where I’ll go
whitout faces again.
So I don’t know
where I’ll go
changing colours again.
I don’t know or I know why
I have gone with the night.
Now I see all the images,
she’s only a vacant light.
She doesn’t know how to live in this world
she was only thirteen years old.
While the sun is going away by now
I can’t change what I’ve done.
Near me, far away…
Near me… Far…
Far away…
Far away from all…
So I don’t know
where I’ll go
whitout faces again.
So I don’t know
where I’ll go
changing colours again.
SILENCE!

I received this as a surprise present by the band for pre-ordering the upcoming album, so thanks a lot to you, too :-))
As could be expected by Pat Sanders & Co, highly melodic prog that should, for instance, appeal too friends of Fish-era Marillion (although Uncle Fish would never have reached those high notes ;-) ) and some instrumentals (from beautiful miniatures like Bubbles to the more epic Last Supper). Among many other fine things offered here, I especially love Pat's piano playing! Carsten Pieper

To me, "Trip The Life Fantastic" was a must-buy on "Bandcamp Friday" this time. It's one of the few "Drifting Sun" albums not already found in my collection, and an essential one, because it marks the beginning of the prolific collaboration of composer/keyboardist Pat Sanders and lyricist/singer Peter Falconer, which was, in my opinion, the best creative pairing the band ever had.
