This was the really first song from “Anywhere But Home” we brought on stage in 2010.
“We used to open our gigs with that song, and later in the years Enrico came up with the idea of “Mr. Monitor” singing that song, so he made a helmet with an old computer screen and a microphone inside. The legend was made!” T.M.
lyrics
Don’t try to sell me something that I can not realize.
You think that my religion is to appear and not to live.
Mirrors are broken by echos of ourselves,
lying on dust clouds of human belief.
You take my imagination
then warp it in front of my eyes.
Cities are walking on!
No one can see that is only a white lie.
And than you come inside,
into the market of freedom
buying and selling open mind.
And everything is paradise,
they will be able to choose your useless life
to the end of time.
Struck by this supermarket
I realize that is my town,
people has only his price
and nobody can cry.
Screens and shop windows are cutting all my senses.
I’ll run away from this city
nobody’ll can see me escaping,
this deafening silence is
burning all my violence.
You take my imagination,
then warp it in front of my eyes.
Cities are walking on!
No one can see that is only a white lie.

I received this as a surprise present by the band for pre-ordering the upcoming album, so thanks a lot to you, too :-))
As could be expected by Pat Sanders & Co, highly melodic prog that should, for instance, appeal too friends of Fish-era Marillion (although Uncle Fish would never have reached those high notes ;-) ) and some instrumentals (from beautiful miniatures like Bubbles to the more epic Last Supper). Among many other fine things offered here, I especially love Pat's piano playing! Carsten Pieper

To me, "Trip The Life Fantastic" was a must-buy on "Bandcamp Friday" this time. It's one of the few "Drifting Sun" albums not already found in my collection, and an essential one, because it marks the beginning of the prolific collaboration of composer/keyboardist Pat Sanders and lyricist/singer Peter Falconer, which was, in my opinion, the best creative pairing the band ever had.
